Who are the Romanian Investors in the Real Estate Market and How Much Do They Prefer to Invest?

A study conducted by MKOR for Build21, a real estate startup in Romania, shows that Romanians are interested in investing in the real estate market, regardless of their investment power.

Those without experience have amounts starting from 1,500 euros, while experienced investors aim to acquire a property in the next 12 months.

The study highlights that investors prefer low-risk products, with 8 out of 10 experienced investors investing in bank deposits and certificates of deposit.

Additionally, experienced investors frequently choose ETFs, real estate funds (63%), and real estate investments through crypto tokens (57%).

Besides real estate investments, 60% of experienced investors have also invested in cryptocurrencies, and 50% have invested in blockchain technology.

The main criteria for choosing real estate investments for the next year are risk and return (51%), as well as investment costs (49%).

Regarding investor expectations from future real estate projects, 58% of them prioritize providing essential services (running water, gas, electricity), 47% focus on the safety and resistance of buildings to natural disasters. A smaller proportion, 37%, are interested in rental profitability, and 36% are interested in purchasing prices.
