70% of online content is shared via “dark social”
The vast majority of online content is shared privately, in so-called “dark social”: instant messages, emails, and forum posts, according to a report published by RadiumOne.
- Private sharing channels accounted for nearly 70% of all content shared in October 2014
- By comparison, Facebook had a share of less than a quarter of total shares during the same period, while the rest of the social networks combined for only 8%
- However, Facebook has the best engagement rate, attracting 3/4 of clickbacks in October, while private sharing channels bring in only 16% of engagement
The future of smartphones in H1 2015
Business Insider conducted a study among its readers to see what phones they use, how often they upgrade them, and which brands and models interest them for future purchases. The comparison covers the world’s two largest platforms, iOS and Android, based on revenue and region.
- Smartphone preferences among BI readers lean toward Apple. 52% of respondents indicate they own an iPhone, and for the United States, the percentage is even higher, at 57%.
- 12% of respondents already owned an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus by the end of October, when this study was conducted (at which point the iPhone 6 had been on the market for only three weeks!)
- Nearly half of respondents plan to purchase a new smartphone in the next 6 months, with 55% of them targeting an iPhone. Samsung ranks second, with a purchase intention of 22% among respondents.
- Loyalty to the current platform is extremely high: 9 out of 10 consumers say they want to stay with their current mobile platform, whether it’s Android or iOS. Only 8% of respondents plan to switch platforms in the next 6 months.
Marketing isn’t magic, but we can have fun!
If you’re not Harry Potter, but you’ve dreamed of being him, here’s your second chance: the School of Witchcraft in Poland is the next best thing to Hogwarts. At Czocha College of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Poland, you can recreate the magic of Hogwarts and the Harry Potter universe – if you’re over 18! Each student will be sorted into one of five houses: Durentius, Faust, Libussa, Molin, and Sendivogius (here is a 49-page PDF explaining what you can expect).
Almost 200 people from 11 countries gathered for the November session of the Czocha Castle College of Witchcraft. The next session will be held between April 16 and 19 and will cost approximately 280 Euros. However, who could put a price on the study of witchcraft?! See the school’s promotional video below.
