Romanians’ Vacation Preferences

The ranking of Romanians’ preferences includes equal proportions of both tourist destinations in Romania and abroad.

Mamaia remains at the top of the preferred resorts for tourists, followed by Greek and Bulgarian ones.

Of the Romanians choosing to go on vacation this summer, 20% are excited about the Greek coast. The destinations they are going to visit are coastal resorts, islands, or some even prefer the capital – Athens.

2016 is considered by tourism industry representatives as the best of recent years for the Romanian seaside. 2017 promises to be more profitable from this point of view. According to our study, Romanians who have already planned their vacation have a 33% higher budget.
