We started 2022 with fresh energy and the courage that we can overcome any challenge together, as a team, as well as alongside the partners who stayed close to us in recent years, marked by the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the beginning of the year had another obstacle in store for us, the war in Ukraine, which brought with it a lot of worries, both within the organization and in the business environment.
But this time too, the team was the solution that allowed us to move forward together, knowing that we will always find the support and understanding we need at MKOR. And this was also reflected in the good collaboration with our partners, with whom we successfully overcame this new challenge.
We learned to understand each other better and to value one another more at MKOR. And we learned to make time to relax together, to get to know each other better, to make time for fun, because no matter how hard we try, we can only control a part of the things happening around us.
And if we stay united, no obstacle is too great. So we chose to challenge ourselves to get moving for our 2022 teambuilding.
A Teambuilding with Obstacles
We chose to put not just our creativity in motion, as we do at the office day by day, but also our bodies, at the adventure park.
We woke up in the morning, met up at our chic office in Cotroceni, and set off for a day full of activities.
As soon as we arrived at the adventure park, we were advised to find another destination because it was crowded, but we decided to give it a chance. And once again, a real success. Not only did we participate in all the activities we wanted, but we did so immediately, without waiting times or rainy weather.
Tree Courses, a Real Adrenaline Boost
We started the adventure full of enthusiasm, with a tree course of medium difficulty, as for most colleagues it was the first experience of this kind. Partly excited, partly fearful as with any new experience, one by one everyone traversed the first tree course. Encouragement and mutual help were present at every step, and at the end of the course, we were satisfied with both individual and team achievements.
The first course whetted our appetite for adrenaline, and we didn’t stop until we had completed three other cool courses, full of zip lines, which the park offers.
After lunch, we decided that the most suitable way to relax (and, why not, burn calories) would be a bike ride. Yes, that’s right, after so many demanding activities, bicycles were the most pleasant way to relax and traverse the whole park, this time on the ground. We rented bikes and for almost an hour we enjoyed every corner of nature and the shaded alleys of the park.
Cool experiences at MKOR don’t just happen at the office, during working hours, but also in teambuildings. Even though, unfortunately, the whole team couldn’t be present, the adrenaline day was a success, and we can’t wait for the next opportunity to repeat it. For us, the fact that we can enjoy time together, that we give ourselves the chance to know each other better, and that we always add fun to our priority list means that we can collaborate more efficiently and gives us the courage to overcome any obstacle!
What do the people at MKOR think about this year’s teambuilding?
We usually organize team buildings for a whole weekend, so we have enough time to spend together – on a mountain hike, at a barbecue, and sharing stories around the fire.
The context this spring offered us a narrower window of time, of only one day, which we filled, however, with a lot of adrenaline! We went to an adventure park near Bucharest, where we climbed trees, literally!
Personally, I discovered the zip line with enthusiasm, and the other trails… let’s just say I crossed them off my bucket list.
What surprised me in a very cool way was discovering the courage of my colleagues, who proved to be true ad-hoc leaders, helping those coming from behind to overcome their limits and showing them how to move forward.
I appreciated everyone’s perseverance in completing the initial course, which was not easy, and for many of us, it was the first experience of this kind. At the end of the day, we could all be proud that we completed at least one course through the trees, and personally, I feel I was able to get through this “trial” thanks to the team.

The team outing this spring was a new experience for me, being also the first occasion I visited an adventure park. As I expected, the mix of a moderate fear of heights, a lack of appetite for adrenaline, and an acute instinct for self-preservation was not a comfortable one, but I managed with the help of my colleagues to overcome my own limits and enjoy an extraordinary day, at a height 🙂
As with every MKOR team building, I went home proud of myself and excited to try such outdoor activities again.

In this team building, I learned more about myself and the importance of the team bond. When you manage to overcome your own fears with the help of colleagues and try to be stronger so you can help them in turn, it makes you realize the importance of the relationship both professionally, but especially personally. Zip lines aren’t as scary as I thought.

I would say I felt it more like a friendship building, not like a teambuilding. In the sense that I didn’t feel that push specific to teambuildings, with team games, briefings, and debriefings, which make you feel like you are rather at work. Somehow the way the whole day went reflects the way things happen at MKOR.
That is, we started with an objective (to feel good together, outside the office) and a certain direction (a place where we could experience outdoor activities). Even though we knew our destination, we weren’t sure we would be able to get there (because we didn’t have a reservation). And yet we moved forward keeping in mind that along the way we might have to adapt. Once at the destination, we weren’t scared that we had to make room next to the bigger ones. Although all activities were booked by a multinational with a few hundred people, we moved forward, managing to do everything we initially wanted!
I liked observing how diverse we are – from those most afraid of heights, to the most adrenaline-loving, from those who choose their path carefully, on the alley, to those who look for every opportunity to do a little drift with the bike. If I think about the whole, as a team, I think there was nevertheless a common characteristic: overcoming one’s own limits. Everyone knew their fears and limitations and at the same time chose to try to overcome them. In a way, it was kind of like what happens at the office, in the sense that everyone chose to do what suits them best, while experimenting with new things at the same time.
Personally, I am not a trained person, used to physical effort, and I felt taken out of my comfort zone. And at the end of the day I felt physically tired, but at the same time charged with energy and proud of myself.

It is always nice to spend time with colleagues outside the office as well, to give ourselves time to get to know each other better and have fun. And when you have colleagues who accept challenges and venture outside their comfort zone, it is all the more thrilling.
For me, this year’s teambuilding was another opportunity to laugh heartily alongside the MKOR team, while each of us discovered new passions.
Alexandra Voinea – Copywriter
What started as a small trail through the trees turned into a very beautiful mode of collaboration when we reached one of the harder trails. It was a very cool experience through which we were able to synchronize and get to know each other better, both our strengths and our fears 🙂
