The second edition of the social business competition “Fabricat în Țara lui Andrei” has concluded, with 10 winners designated to receive €32,000 in funding for their projects. The winners were selected from over 180 ideas entered into the competition.
These projects aim to generate over 35 jobs and income for 78 local residents in their first year of activity.
“Social businesses can be a long-term solution for Romania. They create jobs and indirect income, bring funds to the local budget, and, at the same time, address social issues. It is not easy – many difficulties arise in the life of a social entrepreneur – but through perseverance and constant ‘reinvention,’ social businesses can prove their utility,” says Mona Nicolici, Sustainability Manager at OMV Petrom. We are happy that among the 10 winners of the Made in Andrei’s Country competition are our clients: Mihail Apostolescu – „Miere Sinceră” and Mihai Zaharia – ”Bunicel.ro”.
Within the project targeting the tourist apiary Miere Sinceră, MKOR Consulting conducted research aimed at identifying the availability of respondents (honey consumers, tourists in the Prahova Valley) to visit a tourist apiary in the Prahova Valley / Câmpina area. The results obtained helped identify the profile of the beneficiary’s potential customers, their willingness to visit the apiary, as well as determining honey consumption habits. For better representativeness, the project also included a general market analysis, competition analysis (other tourist apiaries in Romania), as well as general statistical data, such as road traffic in the specified area (during the season).
For Bunicel.ro, MKOR Consulting conducted a series of focus groups, accompanied by tasting sessions to test a new product on the market, as well as to determine the satisfaction brought by products already existing in the Bunicel portfolio. The focus groups accompanied by tasting sessions targeted consumers of natural sweets in Romania. These sessions took place over two weeks at the MKOR Consulting headquarters. The results of the focus groups and tasting sessions led to the choice of the recipe that will be part of the Bunicel portfolio and to establishing the consumer’s willingness to consume certain products, specifically the new product to be launched, following the tastings.
MKOR Consulting places great value on its clients’ businesses, with each research project aiming for objectives that can support the development of these businesses in the short, medium, and long term.
