Leon, Cori and Alex’s son, appeared in his first podcast at just 7 years old, alongside Cosmin Răileanu, a dear friend of ours and the founder of Vindem-Ieftin.ro and the Tribul Antreprenorilor community. Through his questions, Cosmin helped Leon share aspects of his perspective on life. Below, I have extracted a few life and business lessons drawn from the wisdom of our little guest, aged only 7.

Because it was an entrepreneurial and family experience, I wanted to share what the bootcamp was like and the lessons learned there.

A community for entrepreneurs and their children

A few months ago, I participated alongside Alex and Leon, our son, in the Entrepreneurial Bootcamp for Children and Parents, organized by Tribul Antreprenorilor, Cosmin Răileanu, and his team.

Tribul Antreprenorilor is more than a bootcamp or a podcast; it is a community for entrepreneurs, but also for their children. Ever since I came into contact with Cosmin’s vision, I decided that I wanted this experience for us and our children: to be in contact with people like us, who go through similar challenges and satisfactions.

After participating in both editions of the Tribul Antreprenorilor bootcamp so far, Cosmin invited Leon to the podcast of the same name. They had an authentic discussion, sprinkled with moments of wisdom from the Cimpolin.

The podcast and its lessons

I selected 3 ideas that Leon mentioned in the podcast and that I liked.

Never give up: „I learned from my parents that you shouldn’t give up, to have confidence in yourself, to be brave and face your fears, to not quit at all.”

Greatest achievement (aha! moment): „My greatest achievement is that I must never give up”

What is success: „Success […] means that you got over something hard”

I invite you to listen to Leon’s first podcast here >

It is full of funny moments, but also unique answers, sprinkled with a drop of wisdom. I hope you like it too 🙂

The bootcamp experience and life lessons

Besides the informative sessions and group discussions, the bootcamp gave us the chance to connect with nature. We had the opportunity to climb the mountain and live new experiences, to get rained and snowed on when it was 25 degrees at the base of the mountain, and to overcome our fatigue and lack of motivation.

During the first hike, Leon had a moment of exhaustion and sat down on a rock. Coincidentally or not, Cosmin was just passing by and reached out a hand, encouraging him to continue. Cosmin’s words and gestures offered Leon not one, but three precious life lessons:

  1. Keep going – If you stop, it is difficult to restart. Even when you move forward with small steps, you are still advancing.
  2. The power of community – If you want to go far, it is essential to be accompanied. Each of us has moments of weakness, and that is when we need someone to support us.
  3. Perseverance wins – Regardless of the obstacles you encounter, with determination and effort, you will succeed.

Entrepreneurial spirit for children

Cosmin and his team have created a wonderful environment where parents can connect with their children, observe the results of their work, but also their personality and natural inclinations in various new contexts.

The 3-day bootcamp program included various activities, hikes, games, and challenges where we explored the benefits of sports for the life of an entrepreneur, had open discussions, and educational moments. Besides that, we had a good time, and the children had challenges meant to instill the entrepreneurial spirit in them.

They participate in public speaking and negotiation trainings, which they then put into practice, speaking in front of an audience made up of parents (entrepreneurs) and children, in presentation sessions, spontaneous interviews, or presenting and negotiating with “investors”. The sessions were held by Andrei Dicher, a very cool trainer, with whom the children really enjoy spending time. And we, the parents, were able to debate business issues, knowing that we left our children in good hands. 🙂

I was proud to see how, on both occasions of the bootcamp, Leon became the center of attention, in an absolutely positive way. In a sea of dreams typical for his age, Leon chose a different path, more “from the soul”.

He declared that he wants to be “happy within the family“, emphasizing the importance of health and spending quality time together. But this was not his only statement that left us all jaw-dropped.

While the other children were offering parents advice to relax homework and punishments, Leon surprised us all with his advice: to succeed in business, so that we have more time for family.

I admit, the life of an entrepreneur allows us far too little time with our children. So we still have work to do, to declare that our business is going well 🙂

Entrepreneurs Tribe Bootcamp #3

I can’t wait to go again in the fall to the 3rd edition of the Entrepreneurs Tribe Entrepreneurial Bootcamp for Parents and Children. Leon asks us almost daily when we are going again.

It will be organized in October, so if you are an entrepreneur and have children at least Leon’s age, I warmly recommend you follow their communications and come at least once to the bootcamp.

You will meet cool people, and your children will be able to socialize with other children who share the joys and challenges of the life of an entrepreneur’s child.

I thank Cosmin for the opportunity, we are very proud that Leon’s first appearance was alongside a dear person, on the Entrepreneurs Tribe podcast.

See you at the next edition. 🙂
