If you’re reading this, it means you know that MKOR is an innovative market research agency. We’ve been part of the Romanian business ecosystem for over 10 years, and we’re passionate about helping visionary entrepreneurs reach their growth potential. We do this through data—reliable insights from the market across various industries and client typologies.
At MKOR, we firmly believe in the power of teamwork and synergy. Together, we deliver the highest quality data and insightful analyses. The result? We deliver polished, elegant reports to our clients, telling a story that’s easy to follow and understand.
We may not know it all, but together, we are greater than the sum of our parts. That’s where the strength of our team comes in.
In most companies, the client is king. At MKOR, we know that if we aren’t great as a team, we can’t deliver high-quality performance for our clients. Here’s what it’s like to work at MKOR:
- Offering constructive feedback and always being honest – mutual respect is key
- Constant development – continuous learning
- Being innovative and curious
- Flexibility in everything we do
- Spending time together both in and out of the office
- Sharing a passion for what we do, persevering and striving for professionalism in all we deliver
Strength Lies in Differences, Not in Similarities. (Stephen Covey)
At MKOR, we believe in diversity and strive to be as different as possible in our experiences and thinking. The educational and professional backgrounds of our consulting team (including external experts) are highly diverse, which allows us to approach each project with a unique perspective, offering personalized solutions tailored to each client.
We are proud of our diverse experiences, and to demonstrate our commitment to this principle, we signed the Diversity Charter in 2018. Since then, we have conducted three studies that analyzed employees’ and employers’ perceptions of diversity.
We All Need People Who Will Give Us Feedback. That’s How We Improve. (Bill Gates)
At MKOR, we place great emphasis on feedback and openness. We couldn’t deliver high-quality performance without thoroughly analyzing our work and progress. We listen to all ideas, no matter how bold or unconventional, and we seek arguments on how we can put them into practice.
One of our core values is mutual respect. We offer sincerity and expect the same seriousness from our colleagues. Each of us takes responsibility for clearly communicating within the team and acting in ways that utilize all the knowledge and skills we possess.
At MKOR, if a task isn’t completed effectively, it’s not about competing against one another—it’s about working together as a team. We don’t have tight deadlines, but we always focus on delivering excellent results, and we know that our work often surpasses expectations in just 2–3 iterations.
Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever. (Mahatma Gandhi)
Have you heard of Kaizen? It’s a Japanese principle based on small, continuous improvements. At MKOR, we apply this principle to our team’s ongoing development, work processes, and the methodologies we use in our research and studies for clients.
Continuous learning is one of our core values. We believe that MKOR is as valuable as the skills and expertise of our people. In the fast-paced world we live in, the team is the most important asset of any company, because the team is what develops and delivers products and services. A business only succeeds when the team succeeds. As the saying goes: “We have the team, we have value.”
One of our company’s practices that encourages continuous learning is the monthly Learning Points session, where we share what we’ve learned from recent projects. Additionally, during each session, someone from the team gives a presentation about a recently read book, business trend, or personal development. We focus on identifying ideas that we can apply to our daily activities.
Curiosity about life in all its aspects, I think, is the secret of great creative people. (Leo Burnett)
We wouldn’t have thrived in the Romanian market for so long if we hadn’t constantly reinvented ourselves. This reinvention was made possible by the members of the MKOR team. Curiosity helps us understand our clients and their needs, allowing us to create studies and methodologies that are relevant to them. Moreover, curiosity drives us to continually grow and evolve, because we believe in delivering results with professionalism.
We are innovation-oriented in the products and services we develop for our clients. Innovation, for us, is not just a way of working—it’s a way of living. We are always thinking about how we can make things better, faster, and more efficient.
We are stubborn about our vision. We are flexible with the details… (Jeff Bezos)
We are flexible about our working hours, especially since most of us work remotely during the time that suits us best. We believe that this kind of flexibility stimulates creativity. However, we also value face-to-face interactions. That’s why, two days a week, we work from the office. A cool office in Cotroceni.
Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships. (Michael Jordan)
To ensure team cohesion, given that each of us enjoys the flexibility of our schedules, we seek as many opportunities as possible to go out together for coffee or juice. Until the pandemic disrupted our plans, we also went for team-building activities. Of course, we can’t wait to resume that. What hasn’t stopped, however, is the fact that we remain very much focused on the idea of constant improvement as a team.
Enthusiasm is common. Perseverance is rare. (Angela Duckworth)
What does a team with grit mean? Well, at MKOR, you won’t last unless you’re persistent and passionate about what you do. It’s crucial that we work well as a team, enjoy working together, and most importantly, truly love what we do. That’s what we’re looking for if you want to become part of our team.
Today, it’s tough to predict market changes and industry shifts, but that’s where perseverance and passion—grit—come into play. Angela Duckworth, a psychology professor, defines grit as the combination of passion and perseverance in achieving a goal. Duckworth introduced this concept into the literature following years of studies aimed at discovering what makes some people successful: natural talent or sustained hard work.
At MKOR, we value talent, of course, but we strongly believe that consistent effort is what secures top performance in business.
