What Do You Need To Do As A Mystery Shopper?
The primary qualities a mystery shopper must have are reliability and punctuality, along with attention to detail. Below is a list of the main qualities you need to have if you want to be part of our team:
Communication skills. As a mystery shopper, you must interact with the employees of the locations you visit and be able to clearly state what you need.
Ability to follow directions. As a mystery shopper, you will have to follow a series of written instructions. These are vital for the smooth running of the project, so you must follow them strictly.
Attention to detail. Mystery shoppers must look for specific features or details in the field. They must be able to meet a deadline.
Creativity and mental agility. Sometimes, there will be unforeseen situations where you will have to react quickly, even if you haven’t received prior training from us for that specific situation.
Sociable. You must have an open and friendly attitude when shopping. We are not looking for “unhappy” customers for field visits, but regular customers.
Written communication skills. At the end of the visits, you must write a clear and detailed summary describing the events—if applicable—and the experience you had at a specific location.
2-3 hours available for mystery shopping. Each location will involve a total time of 2-3 hours, including the actual shopping and writing the reports. This interval must be uninterrupted (the report must be written immediately after the visit, while it’s “fresh”).
In short, you must behave like a regular customer, be natural, let the salesperson do their job, have divided attention, visual memory, and the ability to describe the visit in detail at the end.
Higher education is not a selection criterion for a mystery shopper.
