The results of the study Homeschooling in Romania, conducted by MKOR Consulting between September 19 and 22, 2016, were discussed at length during the show Meditations for Parents with Tily, on Radio Itsy Bitsy.

Homeschooling continues to spark interest in the media, while the results of our study contribute to the debate on such a controversial topic in Romania. Corina Cimpoca, the founder of MKOR Consulting, was Tily’s guest on Radio Itsy Bitsy, where she spoke about Homeschooling in Romania as an alternative to formal education.

Homeschooling – a possible alternative

Corina brought up the fact that more than half of parents would choose homeschooling for their children, but they lack the courage. Our study also reveals that 92% of parents believe that this type of education should be regulated in Romania.

Homeschooling is a form of education for children that is already beginning to manifest visibly in our country, through the increasing number of Romanian students enrolled in umbrella schools abroad, especially starting from 2011-2012.

Why have some parents chosen homeschooling?

Those who have already opted for it explain that homeschooling seems like a good idea to them because children have the freedom to study what they like at their own pace and can enjoy their childhood more in the absence of a demotivating and overloaded traditional system.
