2. About the MKOR Panel

The MKOR Panel is a community of users who have created an account on the specialized website mkor.eu, to be periodically invited to respond to surveys and studies regarding products, advertisements, shopping habits, technology, lifestyle, financial choices, politics, social issues, and shopping preferences.

Surveys may be requested by the media, research agencies, private or state companies, institutions, and domestic or international bodies. Depending on the questionnaire, these are addressed either to the general population or to a specific target group.

Additionally, MKOR involves panel members in various online measurement activities, which include:

  • Tracking website usage
  • Online ad effectiveness research projects
  • Audience measurement
  • Development of audience insights

Our commitment: MKOR Consulting is firmly committed to protecting the security and integrity of all personal data collected from its members. Your privacy is MKOR’s number one priority.

MKOR is committed to fully complying with the data protection requirements set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into force on 2018-05-25, as well as Romanian data protection legislation. MKOR and its partners adhere to the privacy practices and standards of market and public opinion research associations, such as ESOMAR, of which MKOR is a member.

3. What personal data we collect

Personal data is information that can identify you directly (such as your name) or indirectly (such as a device ID or a combination of demographic data).

3.1. Data you provide to us voluntarily

Upon creating a member profile (Registration)

Category Collected data Why do we ask for them?
Identification data Last name, first name, phone number, e-mail address For communication and account identification
Demographic data City, county, gender, year of birth For selecting the appropriate sample for studies
Socio-economic data Education, occupation, professional level, income, household composition Clients look for specific samples (e.g.: “Men from urban areas, car enthusiasts”)

When you participate in a Survey/Study

  • Collected data: Your specific opinions and answers to the questionnaire questions
  • Sensitive data: Sometimes, studies may touch upon sensitive topics (political opinions, health status, ethnicity). In these cases, you will always be asked for an additional and explicit consent (according to Art. 9 GDPR) right at the beginning of the questionnaire

When granting rewards and organizing contests

  • Collected data: Last name, first name, phone number, delivery address (for physical prizes), bank account/IBAN (for money transfers)
  • Tax data (CNP): In the case of prizes or payments that exceed the legal tax-free thresholds, we are required by the Tax Code to collect the Personal Identification Number exclusively to declare and pay the related tax to the state

When you contact us

If you write to us via email, on social networks, or through the support form, we collect data from that communication (name, email, message content) to be able to respond and resolve your request.

Media content (Photo/Video)

Within specific studies, you may be asked to upload materials (photos, video). These are treated as personal data.

Important: Please do not upload images or videos featuring other people (third parties) who have not given their consent, but strictly materials concerning you or objects/products, according to the study requirements.

3.2. Automatically collected data

When you browse our website or the panel platform, we may collect technical information through cookies or similar technologies (detailed in the Cookie Policy). These may include:

  • IP address
  • Browser type
  • Device information

This data is used for security, preventing survey fraud (e.g.: multiple completions), and improving the user experience.

3.3. How we protect your identity (Logical Separation)

This is the most important principle of the MKOR panel:

Principle Description
Pseudonymization When you participate in studies, your answers are stored separately from identification data (name, phone). The system uses a unique user ID.
Relationship with Clients As a rule, MKOR clients receive only aggregated results or anonymized results (statistics), which do not allow your identification.
Exceptions A client will receive your contact details only if this is necessary for the purpose of the study (e.g.: a follow-up interview) and only if you have given your explicit consent.
Demographic statistics We may share general statistical data with our partners (e.g.: “We have 500 respondents from Cluj aged between 25-35”) to verify the feasibility of some studies, but this data does not identify you personally.
