Two months before GDPR comes into force, more than a third of Romanian companies still do not know what it is or believe it does not apply to them.
The General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR for short, will come into force on May 25, 2018, the date from which it must be applied by all companies in the European Union.
Although at a superficial glance one might think that GDPR only refers to highly sensitive customer data, such as tax records, health information, etc., the reality is quite different.

How prepared are Romanian companies for GDPR alignment?
The regulation refers to any type of personal data and applies to all companies that hold and process such data. And since almost all firms process data at least regarding their employees and customers, they implicitly become subject to GDPR.
This is why the regulation affects most firms, whether large or very small, and whether they address final consumers or business clients.

Starting from this premise, MKOR Consulting specialists addressed a series of questions to decision-makers in Romanian companies to find out how well they have prepared for the changes expected from May 25, 2018.
The information obtained was aggregated into this white paper, which we invite you to download for free.
